My two cents on MBA essays, especially if you're just getting started.
The moment you begin writing your application, you have to stop thinking like an applicant and start thinking like an adcom.
That doesn’t mean being fake or writing what they want to hear.
It means being intentional. What is relevant in a B-school setting? What shows your growth, your leadership, your goals?
Too often, I see students skipping the content part, rushing to make it sound pretty, without thinking if it's even the right story to tell.
Remember:
What wins creative writing awards may flop in an MBA application. This isn’t about flowery English.
So, my advice?
Step 1: Dig deep and get the content right.
Step 2: Plate it well. That’s the art, how you present it, shape it, give it voice.
So, if you’re applying this year pause to reflect and rethink. It takes time.
Your story deserves that much. And so does your dream school.
