Unpopular opinion: The best time to start your MBA application is not after GMAT, it’s while you’re preparing for it, and that time is NOW.
Every year, I see the same thing happen. People wait till the score comes in, and then…
→ Rush through essays
→ Or worse, miss the deadline, even with a perfect score
So, why begin early even before you’ve taken the test?
Because it does two things:
A. You create internal pressure.
Once your resume and essays are underway, GMAT doesn’t feel like step 1. It feels like the last step. You’ll be more driven to finish it.
B. It gives you time
Without the pressure of “needing to start applications,” you can give yourself space to take the GMAT at a later, better date that truly works for you, not just the soonest available slot.
We’ve seen this work time and again.
